We had a great day with Nathan. We learned a lot about WWI in the Ypres Salient (and beyond), and we got to see the Belgian countryside w/ a terrific and knowledgeable tour guide. We also had a very nice lunch (included in the price) at the Hill 60 Restaurant. Once you have seen Tyne Cot cemetary, the Pool of Peace, the Menin Gate and the Paschendale Museum you will not forget them.

Even my 14 year old son thought it was a powerful experience.

Dear Nathan,

Thanks for a very enjoyable and moving experience during our day trip on 11 September (2008).

Your knowledge, utilising research and personal knowledge, made the day a first class experience. Your ability to tailor the experience for visitors from different counties was good as was your impartial and sympathetic view of European history. The pace of the trip, and events together with the good meal (and beer)made for two very satisfied visitors. You even foraged for some artifacts in a cornfield for us. Such dedication and personal attention was excellent.

I’d fully recommend you and your trip.

Best wishes, Emma and John

Friday 29 August

This is the second time my family have been on Nathan’s Battlefields Tour within the past 13 months and that says it all! Our experience this year was even better than our last one, revisiting the major sites plus little ‘gems’ not normally included in tourist literature. Nathan continues to educate and entertain with his amazing knowledge of places, events and the social history of the time. That, and his enthusiasm make him the perfect guide. This tour is excellent value for money, combining a guided step back into history, a chance to see Flanders (and a little bit of France), and a very good mid-day meal in the company of a small group and Nathan. Hopefully, sometime in the future, we will once again be fortunate enough to take the tour again.
