Took the full day tour with Nathan on 20/4 and had a fantastic time. He spoke at length about all aspects of the war and was able to answer all our questions in depth. The day was timed perfectly with plenty of time at each site and museum.

The small group sizes meant you could ask questions throughout the day and also allows Nathan to individually tailor your day and improvise throughout the day.

Extremely good value for money with entry to museums and lunch included.
Would recommend to anyone, even those with little interest in WWI history.

Keep up the good work Nathan.

I would highly recommend this tour, Nathan is an excellent and knowledgable guide who ensures the visit lives up to your expectations. I was very moved by the sheer scale of the landscape and diversity of interest from all over the world. It presents great value for money and provided a detailed insight into the events that led up to World War 1 and the great battles that ensued. The Last Post is a ’must do’ in my opinion, providing a perspective of how the fallen are commemorated by so many people every single day. make sure you have your tissues handy. A big thank you to Nathan, who takes his sugbject very seriouisly, is a great scholar, and has a compassionate approach to the needs of his clients.

Nathan’s knowledge of WW1 and the area of the battles

made the day trip a memorable experience.

He was able to put a Flemish point of view on events too,

being from the area. I think we benefitted from being

a small group too as there was more interaction.

I would recommend this to tour to anyone

with an interest in the dreadful events of those 4 years.

Outstanding!

Nathan was the perfect guide - he has an encyclopaedic knowledge of WW1 and European history more widely, and relates the horrors of history with passion and flair. He clearly loves his subject, and his enthusiasm is infectious.

He is a Flanders native, whose family goes back generations in the area, and is thus showing you around his backyard, in the place he grew up. Therefore, not only does he bring to life the killing fields of 1914-18, but also gives you a wider understanding of what it meant and means to be Flemish, and a Belgian.

We did the full day tour which had a superb schedule, from two excellent museums and the immaculately kept Tynecot cemetery to a chance to see a collection of ‘war rubbish’ (shells, bullets, rifles) in the garage of one of the local farms.

In addition, the trip was organisationally perfect - no waiting at any point, pick-up and drop-off were on-the-dot and lunch (a proper sit-down in a restaurant, with local food) was excellent.

Thoroughly recommended.
