My wife and I took the battlefield tour on 23 October 2012. It was a truly inspiring day which brought home the vast scale of the trench warfare.
Nathan’s knowledge was incredible, the man is a walking WW1 reference book! On our trip were people from the USA, Ireland as well as us from Wales and Nathan was able to explain where regiments from each country had fought and what success or failure they had encountered.
The tour is highly recommended.

Nathan has an extensive knowledge of the WW1 western front, and he is able to share it in a most informative manner. My wife and I were very grateful that Nathan was prepared to include the Nine Elms cemetry at Poperinge, where my great uncle is buried. It was very moving to see his grave - many thanks Nathan for an excellent day.

My husband and I went on Nathanís tour in September

when we were visiting Bruges. I booked it on

the strength of the Tripadvisor reviews, and was

really glad we did. The tour was excellent -

Nathan was a great guide, very informed and

ensured that he covered things of interest

to all the nationalities on the trip, as well as knowing

about regiments etc associated with different areas.

My husband is a history buff, and was very impressed

by all the fact and figures Nathan had to hand.

We also had a lovely meal in Ypres.

I would encourage anyone to do this trip

you will not be disappointed.

My wife and myself were visiting Bruge for my birthday

and unknown to me she had arranged a surprise tour of Flanders Fields with Nathan. We knew where my great

grandfather was buried (Lijssenthoek)and I thought that

maybe we could get a taxi there, thankfully my wife persuaded

me otherwise.
Nathan picked us up on the dot at our hotel and then

proceeded to do likewise for the rest of the people on our

tour, this was only 8 people which made the drive comfortable

and also the tour intimate.
Form
the outset Nathanís knowledge was second to none,

I thought I had a rough outlook on WW1 but this guy

was in another class. Also the way he delivered

the information was clear and put across very well so

as you felt compelled by the plight of the soldiers involved

in the various battles. As well as the battle sites,

memorials and cemeteries we visited, plus 2 museums

(Passchendale/Flanders Fields) and had a great meal

and beer and walkabout in Ypres.

To cap the day off, Nathan then took us to my great

grandfathers burial site and also did some research and

showed me the area where he had probably fallen.

All in all a pretty emotional and well recommended day out.

Many
thanks.

John
& Jacqueline
