I have just returned from a short break in Bruges and have not been able to stop thinking about this tour. It is probably one of the best tours I have ever taken anywhere.

I find it impossible to believe that I was unsure about booking this because 65 euro seemed expensive. At the end of the day I handed over the money gratefully, feeling as if I wanted to pay more for such a wonderful experience. This is certainly value for money.

Nathan picked me up from my hotel at exactly the time agreed and dropped me off at the station well in time to catch a connecting train the Brussels, he even packed my luggage into his boot so I didn’t have to leave it in left luggage. In the minivan Nathan uses a radio mic to give you his commentary. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of Flanders and is able to show you spectacular sights that would be hard or impossible to find alone. You also get to visit three museums which are all very high quality. The range of things you see is amazing from military cemeteries to bunkers and trenches.

At lunch time Nathan took us for a lovely lunch at a local pub in Ypres and to have the food and drink of that quality included in the price was a real treat.

The quality offered here is so high and I just cannot recommend this tour highly enough.

We took the Flanders Fields Daytour on Tues 18/10/11. We were picked up on time by Nathan and then another 5 guests joined us. It was a miserable very wet day to start with but did brighten up. Nathan is a wealth of knowledge and the trip was very informative and very emotional, very eerie and brought it home to Alan and myself what those soldiers had to go through. I would fully recommend this tour, next time we visit Bruges we will do the alternative Last Post Evening Tour. Highly recommended.....oh and a lovely lunch in a Restaurant not a packed lunch like other tours offer. Do yourself a favour and book this amazing tour.

Our day tour was on Sept 4, 2011. Nathan picked us up right on time at the door of our B&B, very convenient. There were 4 couples, very comfortable in the minivan. The small group allows for a more personal experience, which we really enjoy. Nathan was extremely knowledgeable, the tour was very educational and interesting. We highly recommend it. We stopped at a cafe for a delightful Belgian lunch, went thru the museum which is amazing. Saw ammunition on the side of the road, which is still being found in the fields. Heard and saw so much history it was just amazing. EXCELLENT TOUR.

Had an amazing day out on the battlefield tour with Carl. His wealth of knowledge was amazing and he made it all so accessible and interesting! The sights we saw during the day were both moving and thought provoking, we thought we knew stuff about the First World War, but before this tour we realised that we had just scratched the surface! I even managed to perceive interest from our two teenage sons, despite them having to preserve their facade of cool un-interest! The sun shone brilliantly on the fields and the memorials, but closing your eyes from time to time and using your imagination and it wasn’t hard with Carl’s history lesson to bring it all back to life before our eyes. Loads of highlights, particularly for me the amazingly preserved trench and the fact that our timely schedule made it possible to finish our day tour with a visit to the field where the legendary Christmas Day football game of 1916 had actually taken place, a beautifully moving end to a great day. Take this tour if you have even the slightest interest in this bit of history - you won’t regret it!

We did this daytour on 29th september and had a fantastic day out with our tour guide Nathan. Being in the minibus enabled us to get around easy and see lots of things that big coach loads would be unable to get to. Nathan was very knowledgable and i learnt more about the history of WW1 than i ever learnt at school. We were taken to see the places that was of interest to all the nationalities on our tour. Lunch was definately not a packed lunch!!! We took many photos and are now looking back on a great day had by us all. The Menin Gate blew me away. Rememberance day will have an extra special meaning for us this year. Thank you once again Nathan. Hope to do the evening trip with you one day .
