As a student studying history at university I was very keen to visit Flanders and see where the events of World War One occurred and so I persuaded my parents that we should go on this trip. I was encouraged to go with this particular company after reading the comments left by others in this guestbook and I was not disappointed.

The trip was amazing and the tour guide Nathan was brilliant. He was very informative, friendly and enthusiastic and I learnt so much about World War One. What was particularly good was that Nathan tailored the trip to our specifications for instance taking us to see an Irish memorial.

The trip enabled me to see so much and learn so much. This trip was the highlight of my holiday and I would thoroughly recommend it to everyone.

Anita and I did the full day tour, taking in everything from Tyne cot cemetry, local farms with recently found ’live’ shells, museums, Ypres, Menin gate and recently excavated german and allied trenches.

Nathan is an absolutley superb guide - extremely knowlegable and informative and his detailed descriptions of the various movements of the troops and the front line conjour up vivid images in your mind, from both german and allied perspectives, as the day progresses.

I would thoroughly recommend this tour company and Nathan to anyone interested in this important period in our history. It was also great to be in a small group of only 8 people!

This was a truly memorable trip to the battlefields. As a student writing a thesis on the First World War, I wished to see where the events from 1914-18 had taken place. Nathan not only contextualised the war in terms of the strategies and events leading up to the war, but also provided a fascinating tour of Ypes and the surrounding saliant, giving us an illuminating insight into the Great War. The ability to view ammunition, shells and bullets at the various locations was sobering, illustrating the true nature of war and its place in cultural and social history. If you want a well-guided, informative tour of the First World War, than this is a must - thank you for a great day.
