While in Bruges a visit to the battlefields was top of our agenda & so we picked this tour because of the small group, varied & flexible itinerary & were rewarded with a full on tour that packed so much in & you felt you were seeing thinhgs that no big tour bus would go to.
Looking at the peaceful landscape today it’s hard to imagine it any other way but the horrors of war were brought to life through the stories, memorials, bunkers, trenches & museums. Nathan is a font of all WW1 knowledge & his enthusiasm is infectious which lightens this sombre topic.
Thanks for an informative & fascinating day & I would highly recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in our still recent past.

Nathan arranged a private tour last Saturday for our party of 4 with Carl Hoogt as our guide.
This covered Loos, Vimy Ridge, Aubers Ridge, Fromelles and several other sites.
On Sunday I went on Nathan’s standard Salient Tour.
Both Nathan and Carl have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the war which would impress anybody whatever their previous knowledge of the subject was and the number of sites visited in the time available was amazing.
Both tours were excellent value for money and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody contemplating a visit to the battlefields.

Thank you Nathan for a very memorable evening tour. Your knowledge of the area & history of both world wars is fantastic & made for a very interesting trip. The ”Last Post” ceremony at Ypres was very moving & something we will remember for a long time.It was even more poignant for us, since wreaths were laid by representatives from our own area back home. We didn’t know this was going to happen, so meeting people from our own community made the event even more special. The tour capped off a wonderful two days in Bruges & we would thoroughly recommend you to anyone who is thinking of visting this magical city

A quite memorable experience. Nathan served as guide to our party of six on May 8, 2010. His encyclopedic knowledge and passion for history enlivened us through a day of visits to cemeteries, museums, battlefields and memorials, keeping things in perspective all the while. His tour was the highlight of our trip.

We went on the Flanders Fields Battlefields tour on the 27th April 2010 and we have both said it was the most interesting and enjoyable tour we have ever been on. A wealth of information was given throughout the day and we learned a great deal more about WW1 than we had known before. Our guide was knowledgeable and amusing, the transport is very comfortable, especially as my Husband is disabled, and it is great value for money. A real must for visitors to Bruges no matter how long the holiday is. Lunch was super in Ypres and we had plenty of time to look around the museums and war graves. It was a very well organised tour and we would recommend anyone to book this tour with this Company,.
